Q. Do the flails fall off?
A. In extensive testing at our facility we have been not been able to make the flail fall off. In all of our field testing there have been no reports of our flails falling off.
Q. Which flails can you replace these with?
A. You can replace any other rubber or urethane flail but we do not suggest replacing the steel flails.
Q. How do they work?
A. They simply snap onto your existing rods. There is no need to unbolt your current set-up. With the sample flail we encourage you to remove one of your broken 12" flails and snap on our flail and run it side by side.
Q. How much do they cost?
A. Please see our Purchase page for
cost information.
Q. Where can I order them?
A. We can take your order over the phone, or you can purchase them online.
Q. Are they as aggressive as the flails with steel inserts (they are actually carbide)?
A. What we did was add more mass to the hammer end of the flail to give it more force to defoliate.
It may not be as aggressive as the steel inserts, but the effect of the added weight on the end helps to clean the beet more thoroughly, without damaging it.
Q. How well do they work with frozen beets?
A. They should work as well as rubber on frozen beets.
Q. Do they last 6 times longer than rubber?
A. Our in-house testing against the competition is showing that ours last 6 times longer. We've currently tested in Colorado and Oregon and both areas have been pleased with the wear.
